Welcome to the multi-handicapped classroom. We serve children with multiple handicapping conditions some of whom are in wheelchairs and some are ambulatory. At the present time we have five students in the classroom. The classroom staff consist of two assistants along with the teacher. We are a very active classroom where the students are involved in individual and group activities throughout the day. We believe that each student should be as independent as possible in all activities that they engage in throughout their day.

Class Web Pages Class Announcements End of the Year ActivitiesOur school year is drawing to a close and I would like to take this time to thank our parents for being supportive throughout the school year. The last three activities that our class will be taking part in are as follows:
-Tuesday, May 25th we will be going on a field trip to Lake James State Park for a cook out and following the cook out we go to Jack Frost for ice cream before returning to school. -Thursday, May 27th we will be going to the McDowell Public Library for our last story time for this year and then to Pizza Hut for lunch before returning to school. -Friday, June 4th we will have our end of the year cook-out down at the track. Parents please make plans to come and enjoy our cook-out with your child and their classmates. If it should be raining we will have the cook-out under the drive through at the classroom. Weekly Field TripsStarting in January we will be going on weekly field trips (weather permitting through March). The first Wednesday of each month we will be going to the YMCA for swimming. The other 3 weeks of the month our field trips will be normally on Friday's. We will visit the library for story time, learn about our community through visits to the fire department, EMS, shopping at Wal-Mart and the grocery store for things that we need for our classroom, etc. We will enjoy eating at one of the following each week on our field trips - Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, etc.
